Our Compassion International Child

Compassion International is an organization that finds sponsors for poor children around the globe.  Sponsors pay $38 each month to help send their "child" to a Christian school, and to feed and clothe them.  The Messiah youth group sponsors one child through Compassion International.

Brenda Chekwemboi 

Brenda was born on August 26, 1997.  She lives in Uganda with her father and 5 siblings.  Her duties at home include carrying water, gathering firewood and gardening.  She enjoys ping pong, singing and playing house.  Brenda's performance in school is average and she regularly attends church activites.

Vinicius Braga Santanna 

I recently received a letter from Compassion International that Vinicius has dropped out of the Compassion program.  Please keep him in your prayers as the staff in Brazil felt that he did become a Christian during his time with them, but also doesn't have any evidence that he will continue any schooling beyond what he has completed, which is the 4th grade.
